Bradford City release statement after Preston North End approach Alexander | OneFootball

Bradford City say they have reluctantly given Graham Alexander permission to speak to Preston North End over their vacant managerial position.

The League One club confirmed they had received an approach from Preston, who are searching for a new manager following the departure of Paul Heckingbottom.

Bradford said in a short statement: “Bradford City AFC can confirm we have been approached by Preston North End to speak to Graham Alexander regarding the Sky Bet Championship side’s managerial vacancy.

“Reluctantly, Bradford City has granted permission for Graham to speak to Preston North End.

“The club will be making no further comment at this time.”

Alexander has now been cleared to hold talks with the Championship club as Preston continue their search for a new manager.

The 54-year-old has a long association with Preston, having spent two spells at Deepdale as a player and also briefly taking charge of the team on a caretaker basis after retiring.
