Former Bradford City forward Nahki Wells is reportedly open to the idea of returning to the club following their promotion to League One.
Off the back of a post-season campaign with Bristol City that led to them losing to Sheffield United in the play-off semi-finals, Wells has been released by the Robins, and this news has sparked interest from a couple of clubs, namely two of his previous ones.
Bradford and Huddersfield Town, who are both now in League One, are interested in re-signing the 35-year-old, according to Alan Nixon. However, a move for the Bermuda international wouldn't be a simple one for either side as Wells would like to remain playing in the Championship next season.
It would be a bit of a fairytale story to see Wells, who made his name in football with the Bantams, back at Valley Parade upon the team's return to the third tier. With that said, it's not the exact move that Football League World's Bradford fan pundit, Boris Thomson, would want to see this summer.
He said: "I think every Bradford City fan would like to see Nahki Wells back, but it's one thing to see him back and him being the right option for us going forward.
"He's 35 years old. He's older than Andy Cook, and going forward, we need to sign a young striker of Wells's play style, a sort of running behind man with a bit of pace, to compliment Cook.
"But as much as it would be awesome to see him come back, I think every Bradford fan would love it because of how much of a legend he has been for us over the years, I don't think it would be necessarily the right option for us going forward.
"And to be honest, I'll be I would be highly surprised if he came to us, and if he does it will be for a lot of money that, in an unbiased way, I would say probably could be spent better on someone younger, someone who's probably more athletically capable than Wells nowadays and someone who is going to be the right option going forward."
The 35-year-old's league record from last term certainly suggests that he would be capable of majorly contributing for a third tier side should he drop a division to play for someone like Bradford. He netted 10 goals in 39 Championship appearances, including just 26 starts, plus four assists to go along with that.
He is still a mobile threat despite being at the tailend of his career, and that explosiveness would only look better against the less mobile defenders in League One. It's certainly a move that Bradford shouldn't rule out unless someone else beats them to Wells.
