Morocco reached the World Cup quarter-finals with a 3-0 win over Canada, and Brahim Diaz supplied two assists. “I have team-mates who play for France, so if they go through, all the better, because then we will play them.”

He was speaking to Spanish radio COPE.

The Real Madrid winger set up Azzedine Ounahi to complete his brace on 82 minutes, then teed up Soufiane Rahimi on 90+8. He now has four assists in the tournament.

Paraguay and France were meeting later on Saturday at 23:00 for the right to face Morocco.

Diaz plays at club level with Aurélien Tchouaméni, Kylian Mbappé, Ferland Mendy and Eduardo Camavinga. Mendy and Camavinga were not selected for the World Cup.
