Braithwaite ruled out of Grêmio friendly against Cruzeiro | OneFootball

Braithwaite has been ruled out of Grêmio’s friendly against Cruzeiro on Sunday at 17:00 at Mané Garrincha in Brasília. New signing Matheus Nascimento will be a fresh face in the travelling party.

According to Globo.com, the Dane missed several sessions this week with influenza and only returned to ball work on Friday, so he will not feature. He has not played in any of the interseason friendlies.

Presented on Friday, Matheus Nascimento may get his first minutes with the group. He was brought in to offer an option through the centre of the attack.

Amuzu trained normally with the ball throughout the week and should make the trip this afternoon. The number nine sat out the Chapecoense friendly due to muscular discomfort.

A likely XI includes Gabriel Grando, Pavon, Gustavo Martins, Luis Eduardo or Wagner Leonardo, Pedro Gabriel, Villasanti or Leo Pérez, Nardoni, Tetê with Leo Pérez or Enamorado, Gabriel Mec, Amuzu and Carlos Vinicius.

Tiaguinho is also not expected to travel after a migraine episode kept him out of training. He returned on Thursday and will miss the friendly, having also sat out the games against Cascavel and Chapecoense.
