Leicester City academy graduate Brandon Cover has joined League One Rotherham United on a permanent deal completed late on deadline day.
According to LeicesterMercury.co.uk, the 22-year-old has been with the Under-21s this term and was on the first-team bench for the first time this season during Saturday’s 2-0 defeat to Charlton.
Cover’s only senior outing for City came in the FA Cup at Birmingham two seasons ago.
A defensive midfielder by trade, he has often been used at right-back over the past couple of years and featured there most regularly during loan spells last season.
During the opening half of that campaign he made 20 appearances for Port Vale, scoring twice, then switched to fellow League Two side Fleetwood for eight outings.
On his return to City in the summer, he did not break into the first-team group. He is now a Jamaica senior international.
Rotherham are fighting relegation in League One. After 28 games they are above the bottom four on goal difference, having won back-to-back matches to climb out of the drop zone.
