The Brasileirão returns on Thursday after the World Cup pause, with top-flight clubs reshaping squads and keeping a close eye on costs.
According to Globo.com, 15 Série A sides have already unveiled reinforcements, and there have been more departures, 52, than arrivals, 38, so far.
Mirassol have been the busiest, adding six and confirming four exits. Cruzeiro lead the outlay and will pay about R$ 90 million for Gabriel Rojas and Gabriel Pec.
Centre-backs have been the priority, with 12 signed to date. Attackers come next, with 11 already announced.
There has been only one change in the dugout, Vasco used the pause to replace Renato Gaúcho with Portuguese coach Pedro Emanuel.
Grêmio have also secured Jovane Cabral, the Cape Verde midfielder who started against Spain and Argentina during his nation’s run at the tournament.
Bragantino, Botafogo, Corinthians, Flamengo and Santos have yet to confirm signings. For the São Paulo clubs, a Fifa-imposed transfer ban underpins their quieter stance.
Since 6 July, an extra registration window has allowed domestic deals via the CBF system. International additions must wait for the second window opening on 20 July.
With more than a month and a half remaining, further movement in the market is expected.
