According to Globo.com, the CBF will on Thursday announce Brasília as host of the first single-match Copa do Brasil final, with Arena Mané Garrincha to stage the decider on six December.
Atlético-MG face Grêmio in one semi-final, with Palmeiras against Vasco in the other. The draw to determine home advantage in the last four is scheduled for Thursday at 11:00 at CBF headquarters.
The federation adopted a single final format late last year. Across 38 editions, this will be the first time the cup is decided by one game.
The Federal District government wrote to the CBF in August offering Estádio Mané Garrincha as a potential venue for this year’s final. Brasília was put forward citing hotel capacity and straightforward road and air links.
In its letter to CBF president Samir Xaud, the DF government said Brasília has structural, logistical and institutional conditions compatible with the sporting, economic and symbolic scale of Brazil’s main knockout competition.
Mané Garrincha has previously hosted four single-match Supercopa do Brasil finals since 2020, when that competition returned.
