Brazil coach Tite has confirmed offering an assistant's role to Xavi.

Al Sadd coach Xavi has been linked with a return to Barcelona this summer, while Tite admits he wanted him for the Copa America.

Tite admits he offered Xavi a place on his coaching staff before the Spaniard renewed his contract with Al Sadd until 2023.

At the press conference for their clash against Ecuador, Tite was clear: "Yes, we invited him to work with us."

Tite admits they haven't been able to fill the void left by Sylvinho.
