Carlo Ancelotti has been confirmed as the next manager of the Brazil national team, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) announced on Monday.
The Italian becomes the first foreign coach in the national team’s history and will step into international management for the first time in his career.
The 65-year-old manager will officially begin his role on 26 May, after the La Liga season finishes.
He leaves Real Madrid as one of their most successful managers, having picked up 15 trophies across two spells in charge.
Last season, the former Chelsea and Everton manager led the Spanish giants to both the Champions League and La Liga titles.
However, his departure follows a frustrating El Clásico defeat on Sunday, which left Real trailing Barcelona by seven points with only three games left to play.
