Brazil rounded off their international period with a routine 4-0 victory over India in Kolkata, although Carlo Ancelotti’s side offered little of the intensity promised before kick-off.
Estêvão was the standout performer, opening the scoring in the 28th minute after cutting in from the right and firing a powerful effort past Gurpreet Sandhu.
The goalkeeper then made another costly error shortly before half-time, allowing Pedro to double Brazil’s advantage after he had been played in behind the defence.
India improved after the break but struggled to create clear chances, despite occasional threats from Manvir Singh and Ryan Williams. Samuel Lino made an immediate impact after coming on, finishing neatly in the 58th minute following a mistake in India’s build-up.
Lino completed his brace deep into stoppage time, cutting inside from the left before drilling a powerful strike into the net.
Brazil were never seriously troubled, with Mauro Júnior even clearing one effort off the line. The result completed a draw, win and victory during their three-match international programme, with Japan and Singapore next in November.
