The second round of group stage matches has already begun in the World Cup 2026, and several FC Barcelona players are again set to feature for their respective national teams in the days to come.

In fact, one Blaugrana player, Raphinha, has already played his second game, as he featured for Brazil in their 3-0 win against Haiti. With this win, the Canarinha sit atop their group, but still have not made their way to the knock-out stage of the competition.

Despite his team’s win, this was not a great night for Raphinha, especially as he had to leave the pitch early with a discomfort. He was replaced in the first half of the game, at the 40th minute mark, by Rayan, as he felt some pain in his right thigh.

As Mundo Deportivo has reported, the CBF also published an official statement revealing the Barcelona forward’s condition, which went as follows:

“The forward felt pain in the back of his right thigh during the first half of the match against Haiti. The player has already begun treatment and will be re-evaluated.”

For now, further tests are set to be undertaken on the Blaugrana star, and it remains to be seen how he will be diagnosed. Hopefully, it will not be anything serious, as even a moderately long spell on the sidelines can mean the end of his World Cup campaign.

The Barcelona forward has struggled quite a lot with injuries in the last year. Only in the duration of the 2025-26 season, he suffered from 4 different injuries, three of which were hamstring injuries, and missed a total of 24 games, for club and country.

Now, there are fears of him having suffered another hamstring injury, although his condition is yet to be assessed in detail. Hopefully, it would be nothing serious, and he would be available for Carlo Ancelotti when his Brazil side takes on Scotland in their next World Cup game, and Raphinha would return to Barcelona in his best physical shape after the end of the World Cup and his vacations, even as his future remains uncertain.
