Carlos Augusto will start in defense for Inter Milan in tomorrow evening’s Serie A match against Empoli.
This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews. They report that Alessandro Bastoni will get a rest, while Benjamin Pavard will also start.
Inter coach Simone Inzaghi is thinking about some squad rotation in tomorrow’s match.
Inter face Empoli in Serie A tomorrow, but that is just the first in a big run of matches.
During the week, the Nerazzurri take on Sparta Prague in the Champions League. Then, matches against Lecce, Monaco, and AC Milan follow.
Therefore, Inzaghi is considering how to rest certain starting players.
One player who Inter coach Inzaghi is keen to give a rest to is defender Alessandro Bastoni.
The Italian international has really had to put in overtime in recent weeks. A defensive injury crisis has prevented him from taking a breather.
Therefore, Inzaghi will leave Bastoni out of the starting eleven tomorrow.
In the 25-year-old’s place, Carlos Augusto will start. Despite being most comfortable as a wingback. the Brazilian international has proven an able backup for Bastoni.
Meanwhile, Tuttosport report, Benajmin Pavard will get his first start in almost two months.
