Fortuna Sittard have announced that Brazilian defender Rodrigo Guth is back at the club. The 25-year-old central defender only left Fortuna Sittard last summer to join Telleres in Argentina, but having made just six appearances in over a season and a half, he has decided to return to Fortuna Sittard. Guth has signed a one year deal with the club.

Prior to joining Fortuna Sittard for the first time in 2022, Guth had spent time in Italian football. Atalanta had signed him as a youngster from Brazilian side Cortiba, although he didn’t make a first team appearance for the side. Instead, he spent the 2020/2021 season out on loan at Pescara, where he played 25 games. The following season he had his first taste of Dutch football, joining NEC Nijmegen on loan. After 24 appearances and one goal, he left Atalanta permanently to join Fortuna Sittard. Guth would go on to play 104 games for Fortuna Sittard, scoring eight goals.
