Joao Pedro has been handed a new contract after just one year at Chelsea, a reward for his excellent form.

Chelsea have confirmed that Joao Pedro has signed a new contract at the club, penning a deal with adds one year to the one he signed a year ago when he made the transfer from Brighton – as well as presumably massively boosting his wages after a successful first campaign with the Blues.
The striker was shockingly left out of the Brazil squad for the World Cup, and looks to have made the most of that break – he’s scored an incredible 8 preseason goals, keeping up his good form which built steadily as the campaign went on.
He is set to be the focal point of the Blues attack this season, with Morgan Rogers and Cole Palmer providing the ammunition. This could be his first 20 goal season in the Premier League.
This Chelsea team are now really looking strong and well set up to do well in the league in a year with no European football.
They’ve added quality, and will have the likes of Joao Pedro in their second season looking to build on what they’ve done already.
Of course, it will all mean nothing if the team can’t perform on the pitch. They face Fulham on Monday night, with a superb chance to get their season off to a good start. Everything is set up for Joao Pedro and his new manager to start strong – but we all know the Premier League doesn’t always go the way you expect.
Chelsea is delighted to announce that Joao Pedro has signed a new contract until 2034. ??
