Breaking down the October and November 2026 schedule for Gotham FC

Article image:Breaking down the October and November 2026 schedule for Gotham FC

It is down to the final four games of the regular season before the NWSL Playoffs. NJ/NY Gotham FC currently finds themselves on a quest to win the NWSL Shield, as the team has a six-point lead in the standings. They had a stumbling block at the beginning of September, losing to Denver Summit FC. However, the Bats went on to finish the month with three wins.

Entering October, Gotham FC will have a home game and two road matches, with one final home game on November 1. Three of the four opponents are in a playoff spot, so it will not be an easy stretch to end the season. If the NJ/NY side wins just two more times, though, then they will likely win the NWSL Shield. That would be a guarantee if one of the other two fixtures ends in a draw.

Gotham FC's October and November schedule

Sunday, October 4: Gotham FC vs Angel City FC

Gotham FC will face Angel City FC at home, and before the game begins, fans should thank the California side. They beat the Washington Spirit last week to increase the Bats' lead in the standings. But after that, things will turn serious. Angel City is on a six-game winning streak, winning five of those fixtures. Based on their recent form, this could be a trap match that sees the home side drop points.

Saturday, October 17: Gotham FC at Washington Spirit

Of course, the one match many will have circled on the calendar is the road match against the Washington Spirit. The last time the two played, Gotham FC came out on top in a packed Citi Field at the Queens Classic. Now, the Spirit might want revenge, but they have fallen behind in the chase for the NWSL Shield, going 3-3-0 in their last six matches. This could be a statement win if the Bats can secure three points.

Sunday, October 25: Gotham FC at Orlando Pride

The final road match of the regular season will be against the Orlando Pride. The Florida side has shockingly struggled in 2026, going 10-13-3. Part of it might be due to the defensive struggles, as they have allowed the fourth-most goals this season, with 41. They have scored 35 goals, which is more than the Bats. But their overall play has not been anywhere near what fans saw in 2024. On paper, this should end in a win for the visitors.

Sunday, November 1: Gotham FC vs Utah Royals FC

Gotham FC will end the regular season at home against Utah Royals FC. This is another playoff side that sits nine points behind the NJ/NY side. As good as Utah has been this season, fans would love to see the Bats win in style. They have already won, so that helps. And, hopefully, everyone will be celebrating the NWSL Shield win.

Weekend of November 6-8: NWSL quarterfinals

The only thing that is guaranteed for the rest of November is that Gotham FC will play in the quarterfinals of the NWSL Playoffs. This will likely be a home game, as the team just needs one more win to confirm that. If they move on, then the semifinals will take place the weekend of November 13-15, and the Championship will take place on Saturday, November 21.
