Well, well well…

Word is coming out from the journalists in the Chelsea press room waiting for Enzo Maresca that the Chelsea boss won’t be doing his post match press conference.

“Enzo Maresca will not be conducting post-match interviews for #CFC tonight as we’re told he’s feeling unwell,” the Daily Mail’s Kieran Gill wrote on Twitter.

After a draw which leaves his team with one league win in 7, it seems we won’t hear from the coach.

Surely this is just a case of pure frustration from the coach, who can’t bear to face the media for more questions about how this season is spinning out of control.

We don’t expect it to be because he’s been sacked right after full time – but that’s not 100% impossible. Of course the rumours about that are spreading fast. But we can’t see it – if they were going to sack him they wouldn’t lie so flagrantly. And we don’t think he’s under imminent sack pressure anyway.

We’ve also suspected this kind of trend might be coming. We saw Pep Guardiola bail on a presser a couple of weeks ago and offer no excuse, he just decided to let Kolo Toure do it. Of course the broadcasters will kick up a fuss eventually, but clearly coaches think they can get away with it.

And, who’s to say he’s not actually ill? It’s not impossible…

In other news…

Estevao was the bright spark for Chelsea in this game, electric dribbling and taking on defenders and by far our most threatening player.

The two goals in this game for Chelsea came from Cole Palmer (who scored a penalty after an Estevao dribble) and Enzo Fernandez, who drilled one into the top corner from the edge of the box.
