Manchester United have confirmed a new contract for Harry Maguire.

The club revealed the news via their social media channels on Tuesday with the Red Devils star penning a deal until 2027, with the option of a further year.

The United stalwart had previously been seen as a player likely to leave this summer under Ruben Amorim's leadership.

But Maguire has turned his fortunes around with Michael Carrick at the helm, earning a re-call to the England squad as a result.

Maguire told the club's official website: “Representing Manchester United is the ultimate honour. It is a responsibility that makes myself and my family proud every single day.

“I am delighted to extend my journey at this incredible club to at least eight seasons and continue to play in front of our special supporters to create more amazing moments together.

“You can feel the ambition and potential of this exciting squad. The determination throughout the whole club to fight for major trophies is clear for everyone to see and I am confident that our best moments together remain ahead of us.”

Maguire has played 20 times in all competitions for United this season, netting twice.
