Slot will be hoping to continue his side's great start to the Premier League campaign and he's been handed a major boost ahead of the game.

Liverpool's official website released images from Friday's training session where three key players were visible who have seemingly returned from their injury woes.

Federico Chiesa and Diogo Jota both seemed to be involved in Liverpool training, which will be a huge boost for Slot's side.

Meanwhile, Jayden Danns was another training with the first team after his recent return from injury.

Could Jota and Chiesa be involved against Southampton?

It remains unlikely that the duo will feature in the game against Southampton or even against Real Madrid next week.

Chiesa seemed to participate in team training, whereas we only have pictures of Jota being on the grass but no pictures of him involved in the team training session.

However, it's great to see Jota and Chiesa both back in training after having struggled with injuries so far in the campaign.

The Reds will be careful not to rush them back too soon now and they will be going through a careful regimen to get them back into full fitness.

Who else was involved in the training session?

Slot called up some interesting names youngsters for Friday's session.

It wasn't just Danns involved but Trey Nyoni was there too and Rio Ngumoha once again made an appearance continuing his rapid rise since arriving at the club.

Whether any of the trio will be in the squad against Southampton remains to be seen. Slot has plenty of options to pick from and he has so far not given too many opportunities to the club's young stars in the league.

But it's clear both Nyoni and Ngumoha continue to catch his eye.

Danns is evidently another one who Slot seems to rate highly with the fact that he is participating in first team training as soon as he has returned from injury a major indicator of just how much the Dutchman likes him.
