Chelsea are close to agreeing a deal with West Ham to loan out Axel Disasi, Fabrizio Romano is reporting.

Disasi set for Premier League move after months frozen out

The defender has been linked with moves away from the Blues time and again. But they always insist that they’re only interested in a loan move.

However, just like last year when he went to Aston Villa, the club have eventually caved anyway. Disasi is going to end up with a 6 month spell lower down the Premier League, then we’ll be back where we started.

There’s been nothing on this front for a while. We had given up hope that a move for Disasi would be found. Romano says himself that the defender was “never close to joining” the Italian clubs who were linked.

But West Ham, desperate for some solid defenders, are going to bring him in and see if he can help in their relegation fight. Disasi has his flaws, but if you’ve seen what West Ham have back there at the moment, he might just be an improvement.

We wish him the best of luck out there – let’s hope he can earn himself a permanent summer move with some good showings.

With Raheem Sterling also leaving the club in the last 24 hours, it looks like the bomb squad is officially closed for business…

In other news…

Chelsea’s win over Napoli last night wasn’t perfect – as others have pointed out, Liam Rosenior’s gamble with his starting team didn’t work out. But what was important was how it ended, and that was very well indeed.

Matt Law’s piece about Chelsea’s transfer plans in the final days of the window claims that there’s still a chance we sell Tyrique George – we believe him, but it’s starting to look like a long shot.
