According to L'Équipe, Stade Brestois will welcome back Brendan Chardonnet and Ludovic Ajorque from suspension for Saturday’s Ligue 1 derby with Rennes, kick-off 19:00 on matchday 28. Kamory Doumbia and Mama Baldé remain sidelined.

The fixture will also serve as a belated celebration of Brest’s 75th anniversary. The club were founded in 1950.

There were no fresh setbacks this week, with Soumaïla Coulibaly managed for an ankle problem rather than ruled out. It remains to be seen whether he starts to the left of Chardonnet, who served his ban before the break at Auxerre, a 0-3 defeat.

Coulibaly is competing with Junior Diaz for that role. Diaz had edged ahead despite being right footed. The loss in Auxerre is unlikely to alter that pecking order.

The Réunion-born Ajorque will lead the line for a Brest attack that has lacked cutting edge without him.
