Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has identified the two new positions where he would like to strengthen his squad during the January transfer window, according to the Daily Mail.

The Hoops have money to spend in the winter, with an extra £77 million lying in their account, and their boss wants a left-sided wide man and another striker.

Celtic have impressed in the final third so far in 2024-25, with both Kyogo Furuhashi and Adam Idah firing on all cylinders, but Rodgers wants a quality cover for the striking duo.

He wants a younger player having admitted so back in August, and the Scottish Premiership club will hope to get a top option in the position in the coming weeks.

Daizen Maeda continues to impress on the left, with James Forrest regularly providing cover, but signing another winger could come in handy in January as Luis Palma is struggling to impress.

The Honduran could be sold, which would pave the way for Celtic to bring in a replacement.

They will fancy their chances of beating Rangers in the final of the Scottish League Cup on December 15 and are looking to impress across other competitions in the second half of the campaign.
