The Irishman has so far remained silent on his departure from Celtic, which came two weeks ago after a fallout with principal shareholder Dermot Desmond amid ongoing frustrations surrounding Celtic’s transfer window failings in 2025.
According to Desmond, the former Celtic manager’s conduct in the closing stages of his second tenure was unacceptable. The statement claimed he had been “divisive and self-serving,” accusing him of sending conflicting signals about transfer dealings by presenting one narrative publicly and a different one behind closed doors.
Rodgers now finds himself at a pivotal stage in his career, having departed Celtic under disappointing circumstances – much like the way his tenure at Leicester City came to an end.

Now, a report in the Daily Record suggests that Saudi Arabia has emerged as a possible destination for his next managerial role.
A number of Saudi Pro League sides are reportedly keen on the 52-year-old, with a lucrative salary package expected to be part of any potential offer.
Rodgers is thought to be in no rush, preferring to carefully consider his next move and make a decision sometime next summer. Should opportunities in Britain or Europe fail to materialise by then, a switch to the Middle East may become a realistic alternative for him.
Before making his return to Celtic for a second spell, he had earlier rejected an opportunity to take up a role in Saudi Arabia.

Meanwhile, Martin O’Neill revealed on Sunday he doesn’t know if he will be in charge of Celtic after the international break. O’Neill said: “So you’re pinning me down now, aren’t you? So, I’ve just said to Rob in the BBC interview, I am going to, I have to go back down to London again, I’m going to go into a darkened room and come out on Thursday and see has this really happened.”
“So, I should imagine at some stage or another during the course of the next week, whether it be tomorrow, whether it be Saturday or Sunday of next week, that somebody will let me know what’s happening.”

Martin has closed the gap by four points on leaders Hearts since taking charge of Celtic on an interim basis following Brendan’s resignation which was proceeded by that awful Dermot Desmond rant. Rodgers delivered 11 trophies from 13 contested as Celtic manager, a record unequalled by any other Celtic manager. Lest we forget.
