Al-Qadisiyya announced on Tuesday the appointment of Brendan Rodgers as head coach, less than two months after he left Celtic.

He resigned from Celtic in late October and was a free agent. The 52-year-old Northern Irishman now takes charge in Saudi Arabia.

Al-Qadisiyya are fifth in the Saudi Pro League, 10 points behind Al-Nassr. The club moved quickly to replace former Olympique de Marseille coach Michel, who was dismissed on Sunday.

Rodgers will take charge of his first match on Friday against Al-Ettifaq.

He previously managed Liverpool from 2012 to 2015 and Leicester from 2019 to 2023.
