Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has revealed that Cameron Carter-Vickers will be sidelined for a couple of weeks with a hamstring concern. The USA Internationalist played 90 minutes as Celtic drew with Rangers at Ibrox; however, after the game, the manager confirmed he was playing through an injury.

Now, with the Glasgow Derby out the way, Rodgers revealed that CCV will get an injection for a hamstring issue in order to make the Scottish Cup Final against Aberdeen.

“Our idea is to get to the cup final in the best possible place that we can, in terms of the availability of players and players getting some minutes.

“We’ll probably have the likes of Cameron Carter-Vickers coming out now for a couple of games.

“He’s been playing with a little bit of an issue that he can get some sort of injection which will make it right – it’s his hamstring.

“I would think he’ll maybe miss a couple of games and be back for the St Mirren game, then fit and ready for the cup final, a bit like Ally Johnston.”

Auston Trusty, Dane Murray and Maik Nawrocki will be vying to be involved in the next few games as they look to fill the void left by Carter-Vickers. Celtic have managed their injuries well and it is imperative that players are given the adequate opportunity to get fit again for the showpiece game against Aberdeen.
