Brenden Aaronson made a decisive pre-season impact for Leeds United in Sunday’s 4-2 comeback against Liverpool at Soldier Field, and set out his aims for the months ahead.

“It’s a very tough league to play in, week in week out. It’s the best players in the world. I mean that’s why it is the English Premier League. It’s for me the best league in the world.” Aaronson told the Sports Bank.

The 25-year-old came off the bench, halved a two-goal deficit early in the second half, then teed up fellow substitute Sean Longstaff for 3-2, as Leeds completed the turnaround.

Leeds are back in the UK preparing for a 120-minute meeting with RB Leipzig at Elland Road. Three more warm-up games follow before the season begins at Nottingham Forest on Saturday August 22.
