Vasco da Gama have secured a major attacking addition as 26-year-old striker Brenner landed at Tom Jobim International Airport on Friday morning to undergo a medical and finalise a deal running to the end of 2029.
According to PaponaColina, Vasco will pay Udinese 5 million euros, around R$ 31 million, in instalments over roughly three years.
In his first comments as a Vasco player, Brenner said Fernando Diniz’s presence was decisive. The pair previously worked together at São Paulo and Fluminense, and he joked that the coach gave him little choice, adding that he and his family admire him.
He has been recruited to offer greater mobility up front, a requirement set by the coaching staff.
Brenner arrives from a loan spell at FC Cincinnati, having scored six goals in 10 matches to close out last year. He described himself as a forward who plays close to goal but also drops to get involved, and said he is coming to contribute.
