Vasco are not considering loan departures at present, and recently rebuffed interest in forward Marino Hinestroza.

Columbus are seeking a striker this window. Brenner impressed in the MLS with Cincinnati FC, their main rivals in Ohio, producing 41 goal involvements in 82 matches across two spells.

He has yet to catch fire at Vasco, with three goals and one assist in 26 appearances. He has rotated between starting and the bench, competing directly with Spinelli up front.

Brenner will miss Saturday’s game against Mirassol after contracting viral gastroenteritis following the 2-2 draw with Independiente Medellín in midweek in the Sudamericana.
