Vasco have tabled an official bid for Brenner, and the forward’s wish to join could unlock an agreement. Initial interest emerged in mid December, with formal contact made at the start of this week.

According to Globo.com, Udinese want six million euros, while Vasco offered three million plus one million in bonuses, totalling four million, about R$ 25 million, against an ask of R$ 37.5 million.

The 25-year-old has told both parties he wants the move. Previous spells under Fernando Diniz at Fluminense and São Paulo are a key factor in his push to return to Brazil.

The Rio club remain cautious due to judicial recovery, and do not plan heavy spending this window. Even so, there is optimism among the parties for a positive outcome.

By contract, Brenner rejoined Udinese training this week. His camp could be told to travel to Rio de Janeiro for medical checks this week, with a small chance of completion by Sunday.

Udinese are aware of his preference for São Januário, and his status outside their plans is part of Vasco’s attempt to lower the price.

In phone talks, Diniz told Brenner he is sketching the 2026 team with a striker of his profile. The board’s target is a mobile No nine, and the coach’s plan A is the São Paulo academy graduate.

Brenner scored six goals and provided one assist in 10 matches on loan at Cincinnati FC in the closing stages of 2025.
