The hosts started brightly and, inside the first five minutes, Gustavo Nunes dribbled down the right and fed Romelle Donovan on the edge of the box. The attacking midfielder drove inside and attempted to bend an effort into the bottom-right corner, but it was comfortably saved by Wimbledon goalkeeper Nathan Bishop.
Brentford kept the ball well throughout the opening stages and, just before the half-hour mark, their dominance paid off.
Jensen received the ball in a central area and jinked his way past three Wimbledon players, before firing a shot through the goalkeeper from the edge of the penalty area.
The League One side had a couple of chances of their own before half-time, one of which forced a good save from Bees keeper Ellery Balcombe from a close-range attempt.
Lewis-Potter then had a free-kick from a wide area saved well, before Josh Stephenson also had a shot kept out by the Wimbledon keeper.
Former Brentford player Myles Hippolyte had a good chance to equalise just before half-time when he received the ball in the final third after a poor pass but, when one-on-one with Balcombe, he put his effort wide of the post.

After a quiet start to the second half, the Bees doubled their lead on 70 minutes.
Nunes skipped past a Wimbledon full-back and delivered a peach of a cross with the outside of his foot into Peart-Harris, who volleyed home from close range.
The Brazilian winger continued to look dangerous with his positive dribbling, which won the west Londoners a free-kick on the edge of the area as the game came to a close.
Lewis-Potter again stepped up to take it, but his goal-bound effort was blocked well by a Wimbledon defender in the wall.
The Wombles had one final chance at the Gtech, but Balcombe watched it whistle just past his right post as he retained his clean sheet, and a win for Keith Andrews' side was confirmed.
