Leeds’ Premier League rivals Brentford have agreed a £20m deal in principle to sign Jaidon Anthony from Burnley, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Romano reports the package is £17m fixed plus £3m in add-ons, and that the winger is set to sign a five-year deal.

Anthony spent 2023-24 on loan at Leeds from Bournemouth, then joined Burnley permanently in May 2025. Burnley were relegated last season, but he enjoyed a decent campaign.

In separate news, newly-promoted SPL side St Johnstone are set to take 25-year-old left back Liam McCarron on trial, the Dundee Courier reports.

McCarron joined Leeds from Carlisle United as an 18-year-old in July 2019 and made his first-team debut under Marcelo Bielsa in a Premier League defeat to Arsenal in December 2019. That proved his only senior outing before a June 2022 move to Stoke City. After a loan at Port Vale, he headed to Northampton Town, then Boston United in February this year, leaving this summer on expiry.
