Brentford confirm Gil Vicente friendly | OneFootball

Brentford will face Primeira Liga side Gil Vicente in a pre-season friendly on Friday 25 July (7.30pm kick-off local time).

Estádio Cidade de Barcelos will play host to the game, which takes place as part of the Bees’ training camp in Portugal.

Supporters will be able to attend the match with ticket details to be announced soon.

The club previously confirmed friendlies away at Queens Park Rangers on Saturday 2 August (3pm kick-off BST) and at home to Bundesliga side Borussia Mönchengladbach on Friday 8 August (7.30pm kick-off BST).

In March, Brentford and Gil Vicente agreed a strategic partnership aimed at sharing knowledge and improving player development and performance.

Representatives from the Portuguese outfit visited Gtech Community Stadium and Robert Rowan Performance Centre to meet club staff, before a Brentford XI beat Gilistas 1-0 in a behind-closed-doors friendly.

More meetings will take place in July prior to the sides facing each other again, further strengthening the relationship between the two clubs.
