Brentford are sweating on Mikkel Damsgaard’s fitness for Saturday’s trip to Leeds United after the Dane picked up a knock in Monday’s 2-2 draw at home to Wolves.

"He will be a concern and I haven’t spoken to the medics yet," said Keith Andrews, speaking to West London Sport after the draw.

Brentford led 2-0 inside 37 minutes through Michael Kayode and Igor Thiago, Adam Armstrong replied before the break and Tolu Arokodare levelled on 77 minutes. Damsgaard took a knock shortly before that equaliser, tried to continue, then made way for Kristoffer Ajer.

The 25-year-old has three goals and four assists in 26 Premier League games, 18 of them starts. He came off the bench for 30 minutes in December’s 1-1 draw with Leeds.

Andrews’ Forest reference was to 25 January, when Damsgaard went off after 36 minutes with a knee problem and missed one league match. He has since featured seven times in all competitions, completing 90 minutes twice.

He will be assessed later this week and could add to a lengthy absentee list. Vitaly Janelt, Rico Henry and Aaron Hickey are out until after the March international break, while the season is likely over for Josh Dasilva, Antoni Milambo and Fabio Carvalho.
