Brentford maintained their unbeaten start to the Premier League season with a convincing 3-0 victory over Chelsea at the Gtech Community Stadium.

The first half was short on quality, with both sides struggling to create clear openings. Pedro Neto forced a save from Caoimhín Kelleher early on, while Emiliano Martínez comfortably dealt with Yehor Yarmolyuk’s effort at the other end.

Brentford stepped up the tempo after the interval and took the lead just after the hour. Mikkel Damsgaard’s corner was headed back across goal by Jannik Schuster, allowing Jaidon Anthony to nod home from close range for his first Bees goal.

Chelsea pushed forward in search of a response but found Brentford’s defence difficult to break down. Instead, the hosts struck again with seven minutes remaining.

Kevin Schade raced through on goal and saw his effort saved by Martínez, but Igor Thiago was perfectly placed to fire the rebound into an empty net and register his first league goal of the campaign.

Fabio Carvalho completed the scoring in stoppage time, converting at the far post after another Schade delivery.

The result leaves Brentford third and unbeaten after five matches, while Chelsea have now gone three league games without a win or a goal.
