Brentford has issued an update on Vitaly Janelt, Michael Kayode, Paris Maghoma, Reiss Nelson and Gustavo Nunes ahead of Saturday’s Premier League game against Chelsea.

Back at Gtech Community Stadium for the second time this season, the Bees are looking to build on a 1-0 win over Aston Villa the last time they played on home soil.

Midfielder Vitaly Janelt, who hasn’t featured since April due to an issue in his heel, is available for selection having played 45 minutes for Brentford B on Tuesday.

Michael Kayode suffered illness while on international duty with Italy Under-21s but has fully recovered and is available for selection.

Paris Maghoma is still building fitness as he recovers from a hamstring injury.

Gustavo Nunes will return to team training next week. The forward will be monitored over the coming weeks having missed a block of pre-season.

Reiss Nelson joined Brentford on loan from Arsenal on Deadline Day, and head coach Keith Andrews confirmed the winger will be involved on Saturday.

“He’s a very talented young man who’s been around for a good few years and played a decent amount of games at Arsenal," said Andrews. "He’s had loan moves abroad and was at Fulham last year.

“He’s a type of player we don’t really have on that side of the pitch; a dribbler, technically very good and he complements what we have in Kevin Schade, [Igor] Thiago, Fábio [Carvalho], [Mikkel] Damsgaard and Dango [Ouattara].

“He’s slotted in seamlessly to the group.”
