Giscombe opened the scoring as he headed home from close range to give Brentford the early lead in the west London derby.
A good counter-attack from the away side almost led to a leveller as Kalen Brunson found space on the left and fired a first-time shot which Layton Nicholls held on to well.
On 35 minutes, despite the mounting pressure on the young Hoops’ goal, Staitham Bowen’s high foot conceded a penalty, which Ridwanullahi Hassan confidently stepped up to take and convert..
QPR had the first opening of the second half as Brunson jinked into the box and struck a firm effort, which Nicholls did well to hold.
A fine team move was finished confidently by Domeiro Bobb-Semple, but the striker was flagged offside in what appeared to be a tight call.
Brentford failed to regain the foothold they once had in the game and second-half substitute Gabriel Oluwabusola smashed into the top corner of the net to give his side the lead.
Oluwabusola sealed the win for the away side as he tucked away a good finish from a tight angle.
The west London side are next in league action on Saturday 25 October as they take on Forest Green Rovers at Wheatsheaf Park.
