Brentford host their West London rivals Chelsea on Saturday, desperate to continue their surprisingly dominant record in this fixture.
The Bees were left frustrated after a late defeat to Sunderland before the international break. Therefore, this fiercely contested home derby provides the perfect opportunity to bounce back. They face a tough test, however, against an unbeaten and defensively solid Chelsea side.
Manager Keith Andrews has received a huge boost with the return of two key players. Midfielder Vitaly Janelt is available for the first time this season after overcoming a heel injury, providing a massive lift to the engine room.
In addition, defender Michael Kayode has recovered from an illness, further strengthening the squad. However, Paris Maghoma and Gustavo Nunes remain unavailable as they continue to build their fitness. Andrews has confirmed that Reiss Nelson, who arrived from Arsenal, will be involved in the match, most likely from the bench.
The attack has a clear focal point in the post-Thomas Frank era. Igor Thiago has been a bright spot in a difficult start for the Bees, having already scored three goals this season. Furthermore, his work rate has been exceptional. The striker leads the Premier League in high-intensity pressures, both in the opposition half and in the final third, and will be crucial to disrupting Chelsea’s defence.
Brentford predicted XI: Kelleher; Kayode, Collins, Van den Berg, Lewis-Potter; Yarmolyuk, Henderson, Damsgaard; Outtara, Igor Thiago, Schade
The Premier League fixture will be played at the Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday, 13 September 2025, with kick-off scheduled for 8 pm BST.
The match will be broadcast live on Sky Sports Main Event, Sky Sports Premier League, and Sky Sports Ultra HDR, with coverage starting at 7:45 pm BST.
