Brentford left-back Rico Henry faces a lengthy lay-off after a hamstring injury in Tuesday’s 0-0 draw at Bournemouth and will miss the FA Cup tie at West Ham.

According to Hounslow Herald, the 28-year-old was withdrawn after 20 minutes clutching the back of his leg, and Andrews said he had done his hamstring and looked in distress.

Andrews said Henry is probably sidelined for a decent period. The Jamaica international had started 15 of the last 16 league games, helping Brentford sit seventh.

Andrews praised Henry’s defensive displays against top wingers and said he typifies their aggressive, front-foot work without the ball. He called him central to the club’s best spell and said he was gutted for him.

His comeback followed a serious left ACL injury against Newcastle United in September 2023. He played only 94 minutes last season, had surgery and a long rehab, and returned in early 2025, which Andrews observed as the club’s set-piece coach.

With fellow left-back Aaron Hickey also out with a hamstring and expected back after the March international break, Andrews is weighing alternatives. Kristoffer Ajer covered at Bournemouth but is a centre-back, while Keane Lewis-Potter, mainly a winger who deputised there for much of 2024-25 under Thomas Frank, is another option he is open to.
