One of Stade Brestois’ standout players last season, Pierre Lees-Melou (31) could leave the Brittany side this summer, as he’s gathering interest around Ligue 1, including Lille OSC. However, the Northern side’s opening bid has been rejected, according to Mohamed Toubache-Ter.

Arriving from Norwich City in 2022 on a €2.3M deal, Lees-Melou emerged as one of Brest leaders on and off the pitch. Under Eric Roy’s tenure, the defensive midfielder rose to another dimension, helping the Brittany side to achieve a record-breaking season. Despite a well-deserved qualification for the UEFA Champions League, Lees-Melou could be another star player to leave Les Ty-Zefs this summer.

According to Mohamed Toubache-Ter, Lees-Melou has been proposed to Lille, who are reciprocally interested in signing the former Nice midfielder, who logged five goals in 29 games last season. However, Les Dogues’ €4M opening bid has been judged far below Brest’s expectations. Qualified for the UEFA Champions League’s third qualifying round, Lille are reportedly keen on waiting to know in which European competition they will compete before being active on the transfer market. Lille will play either Switzerland’s FC Lugano or José Mourinho’s Fenerbahce next week.
