According to L'Équipe, Brest are weighing up Yohan Cabaye as a potential replacement if Grégory Lorenzi, increasingly likely to join Nice, departs at the end of the season.
Cabaye is currently sporting director of PSG’s academy, where results have been strong, with the club targeting a historic Coupe Gambardella and Youth League double.
Fresh from completing his UEFA qualifications, the former France midfielder wants to take on a sporting director role at a Ligue 1 club.
No contact has been made so far, but Brest’s hierarchy are thought to be receptive to his profile.
In February, PSG’s Social and Economic Committee requested his departure after an internal investigation into staff testimonies citing unease and a heavy atmosphere.
PSG’s management limited its response to a warning, and reaffirmed its trust in Cabaye by confirming him in his post.
