Sunderland striker Brian Brobbey is attracting interest from Bayern Munich ahead of the summer transfer window, The Independent reports.

The 24-year-old has delivered an impressive first Premier League campaign after arriving from Ajax last summer. Sunderland paid around £17 million, rising to £21.5 million with add-ons, and he has made a strong impact on Wearside.

He has six goals in 25 appearances, yet his physical presence, movement and ability to lead the line have reportedly caught the eye of clubs at the top end of the European game.

The Netherlands international was in his country’s Euro 2024 squad and is expected to be in contention for the World Cup squad, which could further increase his value in the coming months.

Brobbey’s signing formed part of Sunderland’s data-driven recruitment strategy, widely credited for progress since their return to the top flight. There is no indication at this stage that Sunderland are willing to sell, with focus on a strong finish and preparations for a key summer window.
