Brian Madjo becomes youngest Super Cup scorer on Aston Villa debut against PSG | OneFootball

Brian Madjo announced himself on his Aston Villa debut, the 17-year-old equalising in a UEFA Super Cup defeat to PSG in Salzburg and becoming the competition’s youngest scorer at 17 years and 212 days.

PSG led on 20 minutes when Khvitcha Kvaratskhelia struck after Madjo lost the ball near his own area. Madjo then hit the post with his left foot on 44 minutes before outmuscling Willian Pacho to sweep in John McGinn’s cross for 1-1 in the 45th minute. Villa were beaten 2-1.

Across an eye-catching display, he produced a deft chest layoff for Emiliano Buendia and several confident touches. There were raw edges too, including heavy dribbles and misdirected headers on 28 and 41 minutes.

Madjo’s route has been unusual. After only five Ligue 1 outings with Metz, Villa paid €12m in January but FIFA barred him from playing over rules on international transfers of minors, making this his first official game for the Villans.

In August 2025 he became Metz’s youngest ever Ligue 1 player at 16 years, 7 months and 5 days. London-born and raised in Luxembourg, he is with England’s under-17s after previously featuring for Luxembourg’s seniors. He had not played a professional match since a late appearance at Auxerre with Metz on 7 December.
