As reported by Sky Germany, Borussia Dortmund right-back Julian Ryerson has emerged as a key summer target for multiple Premier League clubs.
It is understood that while there are numerous sides ready to battle it out for his signature in the summer, Brighton & Hove Albion and Aston Villa are currently the only two to have confirmed their interest in the Norwegian.
Ryerson’s current deal at the Westfalenstadion is set to expire in the summer of 2026, leaving Dortmund in a position where they could negotiate a respectable fee for his services. However, the 26-year-old is in the lower section of BvB’s annual earners, meaning that Dortmund could tempt him to stay by offering him a new deal.
Nevertheless, there have been no discussions with Sebastian Kehl, as the sporting director’s future remains up in the air. Therefore, this could allow Brighton or Villa to swoop in and convince Ryerson on a move to England.
Nonetheless, the right-back has remained a consistent performer for Dortmund since joining from Union Berlin for €5 million in January 2023. Most notably, Ryerson scored BvB’s second goal against Bayern Munich in Der Klassiker on Saturday evening, as Die Schwarzgelben tasted victory at the Allianz Arena for the first time in nine years.
However, with interest from the Premier League, Dortmund face the reality of losing a key performer in the summer.
