Brighton have an injury concern before their Premier League trip to the Stadium of Light after Kaoru Mitoma went off at half-time in the defeat to Arsenal. The winger had impressed in the opening period before being withdrawn.

According to Sunderland Echo, Mitoma was replaced by Yankuba Minteh and Fabian Hurzeler said a scan will determine the extent of the issue. He added that they do not think it is a major injury, while stressing they must wait for results.

Albion are without a game for 10 days before visiting Sunderland on Saturday, 14 March. Mitoma has already missed several weeks this season with an ankle problem.

Brighton are also checking on Solly March, who reported a minor muscle complaint after his substitute outing against Nottingham Forest on Sunday. Hurzeler indicated March should be available for the next match.

March’s omission from the Arsenal starting XI opened the door for Harry Howell to return to the bench and feature late on. Club captain Lewis Dunk was left out as a precaution because of an ongoing knee issue. Brighton will use the break to assess fitness before heading to Wearside, where Sunderland will look to continue their recent Premier League momentum.
