Brighton head coach Fabian Hurzeler wants Yankuba Minteh to turn his frequent forays into the box into more goals and assists.

According to NY Times, the Gambian winger made 124 touches inside the opposition box in the first half of the season, the most in the Premier League. He had one more than Erling Haaland.

Yet the Manchester City striker has 19 goals and four assists from 17 league games, while Minteh, 21, has one goal and four assists in the same number.

Speaking before Saturday’s meeting with Burnley, Hurzeler noted Brighton regularly reach dangerous areas, which he sees as a positive. He said Minteh and others can improve their execution, and that support will focus on calmer decisions and technique, adding he is quite convinced Minteh is getting back on track and back to scoring.

Minteh has recovered from the dead leg sustained when he was fouled for Danny Welbeck’s first-half penalty in Tuesday’s 2-2 draw at West Ham, an injury that forced him off after the break.

Brighton will climb from 14th to eighth if they halt a six-match run without a win against 19th-placed Burnley at the Amex Stadium.
