Brighton and Hove Albion have confirmed that full-back Martín Montoya has left the club to join Real Betis.
It is believed that the fee for the defender is roughly €1 million, after he fell down the pecking order on the south coast due to the emergence of Tariq Lamptey.
Montoya joined the Seagulls from Valencia in 2018 and made 57 appearances in all competitions for the club.
“I would like to place on record my thanks to Martín for his service and professionalism to the club over the past two years,” coach Graham Potter said of the move.
“Over the past two seasons Martin has played his part in helping the club maintain its Premier League status, and we wish him all the success for the future.”
It is also his second spell with Betis, having enjoyed a loan period there previously.
