Millwall are facing interest from Brighton and Wrexham for Femi Azeez
Wrexham have joined the race to sign Femi Azeez from Millwall in the closing stages of the transfer window.
According to the Daily Mail, the Red Dragons want to add the winger to Phil Parkinson’s side ahead of the 1 September deadline.
The 25-year-old’s future has been questioned ever since the Lions’ failure to gain promotion last season, with Alex Neil’s side losing in the play-off semi-finals.
The London outfit earned a third place finish in the Championship, missing out on a top two spot by just one point.
Millwall will be aiming to compete for promotion again this campaign, and have made a promising start to proceedings with two wins from their opening two games.
However, Azeez’s future may yet lie away from the Den, with interest in his services beginning to pick up pace in the final days of the window.

It’s understood that Wrexham have joined the race for Azeez’s signature in the final days of the transfer window.
The Welsh outfit are looking to bolster their squad before the market closes, and have already agreed a deal to sign Jacques Ekomie from Angers.
And now their attention could turn to Azeez, who has earned a lot of plaudits for his performances for Millwall in the Championship last season.
However, they face competition from Premier League side Brighton, who are weighing up an attempt to sign the forward.
It remains to be seen whether the Lions would be willing to sell to a potential promotion rival, or what asking price it will take to convince the club to cash in.
Wrexham finished seventh last season, and will be targeting at least a play-off place in this campaign, with their sights set on a place in the Premier League.
Wrexham fans are frustrated with the club’s transfer business, and are concerned that they are now panicking as we approach the 1 September deadline.
However, some supporters are excited by the prospect of signing Azeez, particularly as it would weaken Millwall.
But the London outfit’s supporters are optimistic that the 25-year-old will not be signing for Wrexham this summer.
Wrexham have been told that it will cost them £30 million to complete a deal with Millwall, with a move to the Premier League considered more likely.
Azeez has a contract with Millwall until June 2028, giving them a lot of leverage in any transfer talks.

Wrexham have shown a willingness to spend in the transfer market under their Hollywood owners, but Millwall will be setting a significant asking price on Azeez.
The Lions could be in the mix for promotion again this season if they can hold onto someone of his quality, which makes him especially valuable.
The opportunity to play in the Premier League with a club like Brighton could be quite tempting, and that could yet come to fruition before the market closes.
But Millwall cannot afford to offload Azeez to a promotion rival like Wrexham, as it would be a huge blow to their chances of fighting for a top eight finish.
