According to TheArgus.co.uk, Albion forward Carla Camacho has joined Lazio on a season-long loan as the club assesses its attacking options for the WSL campaign.
The former Real Madrid player, 21, signed last summer and moves to Serie A Femminile for the season. She had limited minutes last term, was absent from Sunday’s friendly with PSG, and opportunities were scarce despite Nikita Parris departing in pre-season and an injury to Michelle Agyemang.
Camacho showed promise and a strong work rate, scoring at Chelsea, though at times she found the demands of the pressing game challenging.
Head coach Dario Vidosic described the switch as an exciting chance for regular minutes in a competitive league this season. He added that the forward can develop in a demanding environment and that the club will monitor her progress.
Albion have lost summer signing Nadia Krezyman to injury, and Vidosic has made clear he is looking to add to his attacking options during the remainder of the summer window.
Olivia Garcia and Madison Haley each played 45 minutes up front against PSG, with Emily Murphy also featuring there in pre-season. The Seagulls visit Barcelona next Friday for the Gamper Trophy against the European champions.
