Nottingham Forest have signed Brighton and Hove Albion forward Olivia Johnson on loan until the end of the 2025-26 season.
The 18-year-old joined the Seagulls in 2021 from Crystal Palace and has featured over 35 times for their under-19 side.
Johnson made her senior debut for Brighton in March 2024 and earned her first professional contract a year later. She has also played for England at under-17 level, including the 2024 Under-17 Women’s World Cup.
She had joined Bristol City on a season-long loan in September 2025, making eight appearances, but was recalled from that deal.
Nottingham Forest head coach Carly Davies said in quotes circulated to the media: “We are really pleased to have Olivia join the team.
“Olivia is an exciting, young talent who will further bolster our attacking options heading into the final eight fixtures this season.
“We are looking forward to working with Olivia as the team supports her development and are excited to see her playing in the Garibaldi Red.”
Johnson added: “I’m really excited to join Nottingham Forest, it’s a club full of ambition for the women’s team.
“I can’t wait to start playing at the City Ground in front of all of the Forest fans.”
Brighton’s Under-19s head coach Danielle Bowman said, “This is another great opportunity for OJ to get regular exposure in a senior environment.
“Forest are having a decent season in the WSL2 following promotion and this will be a chance for OJ to add her qualities to the squad, learn from experienced players, and help Forest climb the table.
“We’re looking forward to seeing how she does and we wish her well.”
The deal follows yesterday’s announcement that the club had signed Australia international Alana Murphy – the latest in a busy transfer window for the club, which included the loan acquisition of Leanne Kiernan.
Forest, currently seventh in the WSL2 table, have a tough match this weekend as they host league leaders Charlton Athletic.
Last time out, they lost 5-1 on the road to second-placed Birmingham City.
They were knocked out of the Women’s FA Cup last month at the fourth-round stage, losing 2-0 to Brighton.
