WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Seagulls this afternoon.
The 22-year-old joins Brighton & Hove Albion from Danish A-Liga club HB Køge. She will initially continue her development on loan at Swedish OBOS Damallsvenskan side AIK Fotboll.
Garcia has spent the last two years with HB Køge after joining the club following the conclusion of her college career in the United States. She has netted more than 30 goals for The Swans.
After bringing Garcia to Brighton & Hove Albion, the club’s managing director, Zoe Johnson said “We’re delighted to welcome Olivia to the club and are really excited about her potential. She is a promising young forward who has shown strong progression at this stage of her career and brings qualities that we believe will add real value to our squad.
“We’re confident that a loan spell in Sweden will provide her with an excellent opportunity to continue her development, gain valuable minutes and experience a different environment before returning to Brighton.
“We will be following her progress closely at AIK and look forward to seeing her continue to develop and grow as a player.”
The signing of Garcia represents a future investment for Brighton & Hove Albion with the club looking to add depth to their front-line over the long-term.
