Brighton & Hove Albion have completed the signing of Dutch defender Marit Auée from Azerion Eredivisie Vrouwen club FC Twente.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Seagulls this afternoon.

Auée joins Brighton & Hove Albion after spending the last two seasons playing in the Dutch top flight with FC Twente. The defender won the Azerion Eredivisie Vrowen title with The Strong Women along with the Dutch FA Cup, two Super Cups and two Eredivisie League Cups. Auée has also previously played for PEC Zwolle while she spent time with American college side Dallas Baptist University whilst completing her studies.

On the international stage, Auée has represented The Netherlands at various youth levels, although she is still awaiting her first senior cap.

After bringing Auée to Brighton & Hove Albion, the club’s Managing Director, Zoe Johnson said “We’re really pleased to welcome Marit to the club. She is a promising young talent and already has many accolades playing in the Eredivisie.

“We’re excited to see what she can add to the team in the season ahead as well as her own development within the group.”

Auée becomes Brighton & Hove Albion’s fourth signing of the summer transfer window.
